User group

The two most important user groups in the Lepmon annotation and upload portal are Citizen Science users and experts. Both share an important task: together they ensure the quality of the data later presented in LAUP and the scientific insights that can be derived from it.

Citizen Science user

As a Citizen Science user, your task is to review the image crops created by the AI, adjust them if necessary, and make your own identifications of the insects recorded in them.

Expert

As an expert, you validate the identifications of recorded insects made by other users and by the AI.

If you would like to register as an expert, please provide your expertise at family level as well as references or qualifications. Your expert status will be reviewed manually and you will be notified as soon as a decision has been made.
